This a new section of our practice website that shares some of our "Practice News and Happenings" with both our patients and our referring offices.  It has been a tremendous first two years for our practice and thus we want to share some of our favorite moments.

                     Dr. Richard Aguila gets inducted as President
                   of the Jacksonville Dental Society for 2012-2013
Dr. Aguila took over the reigns as President of the Jacksonville Dental Society from Dr. Cecil White Jr. on May 24, 2012 at the Deerwood Country Club.  He looks forward to the added responsibility and representing the profession of dentistry in this capacity.

Jacksonville Magazine: October 2011 Issue
 
Dr. Aguila was selected by his peers as one of Northeast Florida's Top Dentists in 2011 for the specialty of Periodontics.  His selection was highlighted in the recently published October 2011 issue of Jacksonville Magazine. This list was compiled via questionaires sent to dentists in the greater Jacksonville area.  Dentists were asked to take into consideration years of experience, continuing education, manner with patients, use of new technologies, and most importantly, actual results in patient care.  Dr. Aguila is very proud of this accomplishment because the honor was determined by his fellow dental colleagues. Click on the following link to access the  online version of Jacksonville Magazine and refer to pages 42-46.

Mature Matters Magazine: September 2011 Issue
 
Our First Practice Advertisement.  We are typically a referral based practice since we specialize in periodontics and implant dentistry but a referral is not required to be seen at our office.  In fact, we see plenty of patients in our office who do not have a general dentist.  We just wanted to share with everybody in Jacksonville the variety of specialty services that we provide in our office (click on the magazine thumbnail on the left to view our services on Page 11).

Completion of an Additional Treatment in April 2012
With the continued growth of our practice, we were much in need of an additional treatment room that was completed on April 9, 2012 . Thank you so much to Patterson Dental and Dental PC for their fine work in allowing us to be more efficient in the care that we provide our patients. Give Kids A Smile 2012
Our Dr. Aguila and Dr. Chris Geric of Geric Endodontics were Co-Coordinators for the 2012 Jacksonville Dental Society's Give Kids a Smile event at the Sulzbacher Center Dental Clinic on February 4, 2012. Fifty-three children were seen this year for the event that provided over $41,000 worth of dental care to children here in Jacksonvile. Thank you to all the volunteer dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, the FCCJ Dental Hygiene students, the various dental supply companies, and the Sulzbacher Center who hosted the event for it's sixth year here in Jacksonville. It was a total team effort and very big success!
 
     
 
Birthday Luncheon for RDH Donna:
We celebrated the birthday of Donna (our "multi-talented" dental hygienist) at Otaki's Japanese Restaurant close by our office at Gate Parkway.   We enjoyed some sushi, hibachi and cupcakes at Otaki's to celebrate Donna's birthday. We are so happy to have her part of our team at Richard E. Aguila, DDS, PA!

Our Office Family Christmas Party:
We celebrated our office Christmas party this year on 12-16-2011 at Season's 52 at the St. Johns Town Center right down the road from our office.  It was a delicious meal and great time shared with all our loved ones.  As we reflect back, 2011 was a great year for our office!  Our staff has doubled in size with the addition of Liliy (surgical assistant) and Donna (registered dental hygienist).  We are grateful for the continued growth of our practice and most especially to our patients and referring offices for entrusting us with the specialty care that we provide.

American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting:
November 2011 in Miami Beach, Florida
 
Dr. Aguila attended the annual specialty meeting by the American Academy of Periodontology in Miami Beach, Florida from November 12th-15th. He takes pride in being on the cutting edge in regards to advanced surgical techniques in both periodontal and dental implant surgery that he provides in his practice.
 
It was a great meeting to learn about new surgical techniques and technology, catch up with friends from residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and the Navy, and most importantly spend time with family in beautiful Miami.
 
 
   
 
Dr. Aguila's Birthday Luncheon:  November 2011
 
The staff took time out of a very busy work week to take the "old man" (Dr. Aguila) out for a birthday luncheon at Bahama Breeze at the St. Johns Town Center.  It was nice to get away from the office and enjoy each others' company. 
 
       
 
 
 
Jacksonville Community Health Fair:   
 
On Saturday, October 22, 2011, Laure and Liliy (our surgical assistants) represented the dental profession and our practice at a Jacksonville community health fair that provided patient education to hundreds of local residents in the Gate Parkway community.  We were one of the dozens of local health care practices chosen for this community service event.  Dr. Aguila regretfully could not make it to this year's event because of a previously scheduled out of town continuing education course.  We again look forward to next year's event! 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Laure's & Arnie's Birthday Luncheon: October 2011
 
We celebrated the October birthdays of Laure and Arnie with a staff luncheon at J Alexanders Restaurant at the nearby St. Johns Town Center.  We are truly blessed with a wonderful and caring staff!
 
 
 
 
 
 
  
 
 
 
 
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Advanced User Course:  August 2011 in Charlotte, North Carolina
 
Dr. Aguila takes pride in staying current and providing the most current technological advances in his practice for his patients.  His most recent continuing education course was in Charlotte at the Galileos Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT): Advanced User Course.  Dr. Aguila learned about advanced radiographical and CBCT interpretational techniques and also the most current uses of CBCT in implant dentistry.  He was formally trained on the recent integration of CEREC with the Galileos CBCT to thus allow Dr. Aguila to be one of only a few practices in Jacksonville to be able to provide this most state of the art technology in providing dental implants for his patients. 
 
 
 

Liliy's Birthday: June 2011
 
We celebrated Liliy's (our Surgical Assistant) Birthday with a staff luncheon at the nearby Capital Grille at the St. Johns Town Center.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Partners in Synergy Course:
June 2011 in Orlando, Florida
 
Dr. Aguila attended "Partners in Synergy: The Ultimate Graft Course" at the beautiful Ritz Carlton in Orlando featuring world renown surgeons, Dr. Micheal Pikos and Dr. Maurice Salama.  Dr. Aguila regularly takes continuing education courses to ensure that he remains current in the all his advanced surgical techniques for his patients.
 
 
 
    
 
 
 
 
American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Annual Meeting :  April 2011 in Scottsdale, Arizona
 
Dr. Aguila and both of his surgical assistants, Laure and Liliy, attended the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Annual Meeting in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona in April 2011.  At the meeting, Dr. Aguila, Laure and Liliy received the most current training and information available today in regards to Intravenous (IV) Moderate Conscious Sedation to further ensure the safety of our patients.  They also made time to see the Grand Canyon while in Arizona!  Additionally, Dr. Aguila and his staff are all certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
 
    
 
 
Grand Opening Celebration :  September 2010
 
We officially opened in July 2010 and celebrated our Grand Opening Celebration on September 16, 2010 via an open house from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Over 165 people that included local dentists, physicians, office staff members, family and friends walked through our front doors that beautiful evening.  They were able to meet Dr. Aguila and his family, our staff, and tour our state of the art office.  Included below are just a few photos of the grand opening celebration.
