A very "Warm Welcome" to the office website of Dr. Richard E. Aguila at Contemporary Implant Dentistry & Periodontics conveniently located in the heart of Jacksonville, Florida at the intersection of 9A and Gate Parkway. Dr. Aguila is a Board Certified Periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Aguila is a well trained, highly skilled surgeon who practices the full scope of implant dentistry and periodontal therapy with expertise ranging from dental implants, advanced bone & sinus grafting, to cosmetic gum lifting, soft tissue grafting, non-surgical & surgical periodontal therapy, and minimally invasive Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapy via the LANAP procedure.
Dr. Aguila is fully trained in both intravenous and oral sedation and is Certified in Conscious Sedation by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is one of the few periodontists in the greater Jacksonville area that provides both sedation modalities to help make your experience at our office a very safe and comfortable one.
Our state of the art office possesses the latest in dental technology including our very own "in-house" Galileos Cone Beam 3-D CT Scanner to allow for 3-dimensional diagnostic planning which results in more predictable and less invasive periodontal and dental implant surgery. We also have incorporated the Millennium Periolase NdYAG dental laser to help provide patients a minimally invasive alternative to traditional periodontal surgery.

Minimally Invasive Laser Periodontal Therapy
The Millennium Periolase MVP-7 laser is used in our office to offer our patients a minimally invasive alternative in the treatment of inflammatory periodontal disease. The Periolase MVP-7 is the only FDA approved laser able to claim the outcome of "new attachment" to previously diseased tooth root surfaces. LANAP is the acronym for this Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure that is achieved when using the Periolase MVP-7. Patients experience virtually no pain, swelling or bleeding as compared to conventional surgical periodontal therapy.
PRGF (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors)
Our practice is the first periodontal and dental implant surgery practice in Jacksonville to offer the latest technology in bone and tissue regeneration: Plasma Rich in Growth Factors or PRGF Endoret.
The PRGF Endoret technique isolates from the blood plasma the proteins which are responsible for wound healing and tissue regeneration. Once a therapeutic dose is applied to the treatment area, the repair process is enhanced and accelerated.
